Turing is publishing this important resource as it marks its 97th year of serving the public interest. The first book of the series, planned as three different volumes, is titled "Automobile in Ottoman Istanbul" and covers articles on transportation, the invention of the automobile, and the history of automobiles centered in Istanbul during the Ottoman period. The second book details the journey of the automobile in our country from the early years of the Republic until the 1950s, and the third book addresses the role of automobiles in our culture, art, literature, and folklore. The work, which materialized after years of scanning primary sources like archives, press, and memoirs and utilizing previous research in the area, has also been enriched with visual materials. As we experience the joy of delivering the second book of the series to you, we are proud to share that the third book will be published in the coming months, completing the series. In this period, where our unfortunate automobile adventure, which started with the Devrim cars, has been revived with our domestic and national car, we at Turing also wanted to share all the details of our country's historical processes in this area. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to the realization of the book "Automobile in Republican Istanbul," meticulously prepared by esteemed academics after years of archival research, especially the book's editor Prof. Dr. Erhan Afyoncu, and Dr. Coşkun Yılmaz, as well as authors Prof. Dr. Vahdettin Engin, Prof. Dr. Kemalettin Kuzucu, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uğur Demir. We are delighted to present this work to our valued readers, believing it will make significant contributions to our cultural history.
